January Meeting Topic: Denver Union Station Project
Join the Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering Thursday, January 21st, for our next RMS monthly meeting. This month we will have a special presentation from Richard Romig, AECOM Vice President - Mountain Area Transportation, on the Denver Union Station Design Project.
Richard's presentation will discuss how the Denver Union Station Transit Center Improvements project transformed 42 acres of former rail yards into a centerpiece for downtown Denver, anchoring and facilitating connections between the region's transit systems. It will show how people can easily transition between bus and rail by way of an iconic, eight-track commuter rail train hall, a new light-rail station, and a 22-bay underground bus concourse. Additional improvements, including street realignments and public plazas, set the stage for a classy mixed-use transformation.
Richard Romig has 30 years of Civil Engineering experience, with much of that as project manager for large highway, bridge, and transit projects. He was civil engineering manager on the North Shore Connector light rail transit tunnel in Pittsburgh, and Project Manager for the Denver Union Station Design-Build Phase. He is now the Operations Manager for AECOM in Denver.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 6pm. Dinner and drinks will be included. The Presentation will start at approximately 7pm.
