March Meeting Topic: Gross Reservoir Expansion
Join us Thursday, March 21st, for our next RMS monthly meeting. This month, we will be joined by Denver Water's Program Manager Jeff Martin and Owner’s Representative Greg Zamen to discuss the Gross Reservoir Expansion Project. The event will start at 6:00 PM at Landry’s Seafood House.
The Gross Reservoir Expansion Project is a major component of Denver Water’s long-term, multi-pronged approach to deliver safe, reliable water to the more than 1.4 million residents in its service area today and many of the projected 7.7 million who will call Colorado home by 2040. This $464 million investment (in 2025 dollars) will help balance Denver Water’s water collection systems, increase reliability and help store more water for the next drought.
Using upwards of 844,000 cubic yards of roller-compacted concrete, the project will raise the height of Gross Dam by 131 feet, making it the largest concrete dam in Colorado. The project will nearly triple the storage capacity of the facility and add three miles of shoreline.
Join us for dinner on March 21st at 6:00 PM at Landry’s Seafood House to hear a presentation from Program Manager Jeff Martin and Owner’s Representative Greg Zamensky who will discuss unique challenges of the project from an engineering and construction perspective.
